I'm building the same model and in my opinion this is a really great kit!
May I ask you why you have chosen a dark shade for the deck?
How did you paint it?

There was no particular reason I chose a darker color. I've done lighter lighter decks in the past using a stain made for wood of all things!
This time I used a dark brown enamel. When the deck is in more natural light it looks lighter.
I'm looking forward to following your adventure. I'm about 2 weeks into building the same kit. It looks like you're off to a good start.
