Hard time finding a P.E. set for the trumpeter Graf Spee.  I've seen listings for the AQcademy kit But I'm not sure if it will fit the trumpeter kit I was given.

I even went to the Eduard site but when things got added up the price of their P.E. set was radidly heading towards 70.00

As far as i know there is only 1 Eduard set for the Trump Spee. 70.00 seems a high price given that the set is just over £22.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Here’s a complete set for the Trumpeter kit. I’ve purchased from Robi many times and he‘s awesome. The set comes with the detail and rails. You’re looking at around $40.00 USD. Hope this helps.

Now worries John, there's plenty of time to join. Over two years from now.

Docidle, I updated the info on the roster.

TheMongoose, wunderbar und willkommen! Ich habe dich auf dem dienstplan. Ich bin gespannt, wie das baut! Mächtiger Scharnhorst! Ich liebe es Yes

Got you down Steve. Did you want the Tirpitz? If so, who's the manufacturer?

Steve,

The Tirptz is the Revell 1/350 kit. The Graf Spee is the 1/350 Trumpeter kit.

Ich freue mich darüber

I've been thinking of switching or at least doing more 1/700 scale ships going forward. I particularly wanted a Flyhawk kit to try out and since they have lots of Kriegsmarine this GB was highly anticipated. For my primary build lets lay the keel for the ...

later on some standard fare will join up with her -

Revell's 1/350 Bismark with a wood deck that came with it.

Tamiya's 1/350 Tirpitz, OOB

In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!

Look forward to seeing that Steve. Thats the kit with the Quad 20mm if i remember right.

That’s the one Bish. I’m going to have to go through your excellent WIP on your Schnellboot. I can’t remember if you shaved down the hump around the forward gun position and if you replaced the kit’s weapons with metal barrels. If so I really need to go over how you did them please and thank you.

Love the badges Steve. Going to be hard to pick just one! Cant wait to see everyone's work here. Some real talent checking in here so far!

I have a solution in mind...Gonna build multiple kits on this one and grab my favorite badge for each!

I have thought about building another ship just for the badge. I may enter later but I am going to go and do an armor build or two before I decide.

Oh yeah, I've delt with Shapeways before, picked up a set of Phase Cannons for my NX-01 Enterprise.  They were smaller than I thought but have nice detail.

I found a set of pontos decking in the box along eith a barrel set that had been hiding under some partsw and some P.E. railings.  I still am going to look into the Eduard sed and the White Ensign parts.  If I feel lucky with the V.A. I just might go with the Shapeways guns.  We'll see.

I unsersatnd Steve however remember, once you sign up, you have as long as it takes to complete it. I don't believe anyone is building a Schnellboot or the Tirpitz. If I had either, I'd throw them in.

Steve,

Alright, put me down for the 1/72 Schnellboot. And if I really want to go even madder than I am now, then put me down for the Graf Spee too.  I’ll have to look at what else I would want and need for the Tirpitz but I have a feeling it’s going to get expensive. I hope I live to regret this...

I'll stsrt off with the Graff Spee, I got this kit from a person that I built the Mogami and Akagi for.  I've never built a Trumpeter kit before so this should be educational.  I got it with the wood decks but it needs more.

Who make a decent set of P.E. and barrels?

I have the Eduard PE set. I also have the Pontos deck. And in regards to your weapons, here are some more options. Although the 3D route is pricey, however, you don’t have to fiddle around with really small parts!

Thanks for the heads up Steve. I used an Artwox deck on my S-boat and that went down great. I also have one for the Bismarck, but i just couldn't find their Spee one anywhere.

I have a Nautilus deck for the U-Boat and i am looking forward to seeing how that goes.

I have the same guns for my Spee and i got the Eduard PE set for it. I couldn't find any others. Which wood deck do you have. I couldn't find the Artwox one so got Wood Hunters which i have not tried before.

I have the Hunter wood deck. I've used them before but the glue isn't as strong as Artwox. I had to suplement some areas with a drop of thin CA here or there but otherwise it was a perfect fit and looks good. I would think Wood Hunters are about the same quality.

I’ve been itching to build something sea going for while. Put me down for an AFV Club 1/350 U-Boat Type VII C. I’d like to do a 1/700 Prinz Eugen but I haven’t done a ship kit in almost twenty years and don’t want to get in over my head. Will see how I’ll do with the U-Boat for now.

Steve,

I’m tempted but I still owe you a X-Craft from the British Flag GB. If I threw my hat into the ring I have four options and all of them are spoken for and I wouldn’t want to take away from anyone else’s build.

1/350 Trumpeter Graf Spee with loads of aftermarket

1/350 Revell Tirpitz with the PE but no aftermarket weapons .... yet

1/350 ICM Koenig with no aftermarket .... yet

1/72 Revell Schnellboot w/Flak and oodles of aftermarket.

Bish-  no hanger deck on it, totally boxed in and bare.

Hogfanfs-  got your hands full with the Scharnhorst.

MC- may take you up on that, but it is a beautiful ship.

I have a Heller 1:150 Pruessen kit I have been lugging around for the past 35 years.  This might be a good reason to build it, and at a little over 3 feet long and just as tall, build an extension onto my house to display it.

Großadmiral Modelcrazy,

Would you add me in with:

1/350 Dragon KMS Scharnhorst 1943

                      and

1/350 Trumpeter KMS Prinz Eugen

Funny, later this week I'm going to finally crack open my KGV for the British GB!
