It may depend upon just what parts they are.
NY & Texas were sisters, after a fashion, given how far apart they were built, they were to the same general plans.
The major differences are in the fighting tops, and in some of the refit parts after '44.
Trumpy made the NY sprues first, and may have just economised and used NY sprues where they (per Trumpy) matched. So, the mis-matched sprue may not be a deal breaker.
If there were major differences the kits failed to capture, there'd be aftermarket by now--and, largely the only things out there are the tops and the turrets, which will be more down to what you have determined you want from the plans.
Also, while the rumpy kits build up decent from the box, a good set of plans, and either the Pontos or Big Ed detail kits will really pop the build out. (The Pontos stuff really wants checking against plans and references, they are good, but occasionaly err.)
