That was a great video. I feel confident I could do something very similar by following along. It came out looking super nice. Makes me think about actually buying a set of these I like them and seeing what you did they can definitely turn out nice

In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!

The 1/35 scale is the newer release of the 3rd and 4th gun not this one. this one is 1st gun turret which is in 1/72 scale and that new kit is larger than this one too. you can build the 3rd or 4th turret or buy 2 of the kit to build 2 seperate turret

I keep seeing things on a Takom model of the Yamatos secondary turret for about 65.00 and it's in 1/35th scale.  Somehow this doesn't seem right somehow.  This would have to be a rather large kit in that scale and yet the cost seems rather low.  Has anyone else seen this or have any knowledge of it?

And the finish model includes the base is around 40x40. The gun barrel will stick put a lot. It can be around 60x40 if you included the length of the barrel

yes the kit includes 2 option for you to choose. each barrel have rises and nornal position. I like to make it as same as the box art so im only rises 1 barrel. You can rises 3 of them or just 2 or 1 in any possition or 3 of them in normal position

I did find some products about the crew but kinda expensive and have to shipping abroad. In this time shipping overboard take ages to reach. But i will complete it in the future

Is there a option for the barrels as far as elevations?  Some people, like me, would like them all raised, partly raised, or just level.  How big is this model when assembled?

I remember, I was based at Kadena, the Japanese thought about actually getting the Yamato raised, repaired, and put on display, like they did with the Mikasa.  Once they found and looked over the ship, the project died pretty quickly.

Love the subtle weathering that you achieved.

Yeah, The Yamato didn't see much action and spent most of the war moored at a pier. The crew kept her pretty clean for something to do. Not to mention she was the pride of Japan....and still is.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Yeah I will be a great display when you have the ship model in the middle and some scale up gun, turret or superstructure display around. :D

Well done.  I've seen a couple of these built up and really like the idea - such a key focus point for any big battleship.  Great idea, pairing with a model of the ship.

Thanks,

John

Wow!  Very impressive build to say the least.  When these turret kits were first released I asked myself "Why?' but now I can see that they make into a truly impressive piece of "art".  Love the subtle weathering that you achieved.  Any plans to add crew figures?  Is there a Bismarck turret in your future?
