If you guys want to see another really cool LST, Go to Muskegon, Michigan. They have one that last summer was painted in a dazzle scheme.. probably the only place you can see anything in WWII camouflage. Check out the website www.lst393.org. For an intersting twist you can take the old Lindberg kit and without any modifications make a civilian version of an LST, this was the "Highway 16" and ferried simi's across Lake Michigan decades ago, probably the only chance you will have to put 1950's cars on the deck of an LST!. Bizzare but true. In Muskegon there is also the "Silversides" a WWII sub that you can tour as well as the "Milwaukee Clipper", a former Lake Michigan car ferry that was retired back in 1970. The owners of the "Milwaukee Clipper" also owned the "Highway 16" and used it to carry large trucks that they could not carry on the "Milwaukee Clipper" back in the 1950's & 60's. It is nothing short of remarkable that this two ship fleet that has not seen a paying passenger for over 35 years is stiill intact! All three of these museums are run by different organizations.
