mooring quays at pearl harbpr

Not there now, but if you look at the above photo from 1943 there were some bumpers around the concrete quays at that time.  

Now, as to whether they were present in 1941 or were added during the salvage operations that question can be answered with just a bit more research ...

Bumpers are clearly shown on the quay beyond the forward wreckage

I don't believe the quays had bumpers, or "fenders" as they are also called. I had a temporary assignment to Pearl Harbor in 2003 and took pictures of all the quays but as they were digital pictures and I lost them in my latest computer crash, I can't pull them up anymore. The quays are still there, the names of the vessels that were tied to them during the attack are painted on them.

If you mean the ones on "battleship row", I have a photo of the Arizona tied up pre dec 7, but can't really tell whether there's a bumper on the quay or not. Aren't they still there, tho ??
