Voyager 2

Here's a 1/72 scratchbuilt model of Voyager 2 that I built in 1989.

I used a lot of reference from books and NASA factsheets and I think I came quite close to what the real probe looked (and still looks!) like...

The main dish is cut from a soda bottle.. Remember in those times, pop bottles (well here in Europe anyway) came with a black plastic base that concealed a nice rounded bottom...? This particular dish cam from a 1 liter Schweppes bottle... Big Smile [:D]. The most difficult part in this model was (obviously) the making of the main instrument boom, in this case built from a very large number of tiny sections of plastic rod... Nowadays, this would be much easier to make, even with my rudimentary PE making skills...

Very nice Domi. How long did it take you to build it.
