That's really cool!  I remember watching that as a kid with great disappointment.  Nice work sanding that - turned out great.

Thanks for the compliment.  The jump turned out to be a pretty big "nothing" since the recovery parachute deployed almost immediately after launch causing the wind to take the X-2 back to the original side of the river.  Knievel was initally blamed for causing this, but later analysis showed a mechanical flaw made it happen.

Oh wow now that's different and cool!!! I grew up in the late '70s and early '80s and sorta remember that. 

I've had 3D printed stuff that rough, musta been a pile of sanding and filling. Fantastic work on getting everything all smooth and perfect. 

Very cool idea and project. Nicely done!

Yeah, I remember that one. Such a disappointment that was. His launch site is about two hours from me.

modelcrazy-Do you remember when stuntman Eddie Braun did a successful jump of Snake River Canyon in 2016? He built a very near duplicate of the X-2 (named EVEL SPIRIT).  His success at least proved the engineering design of the X-2 as a stable rocket platform.  I always thought the X-2 was a great looking design and the having the eye-popping American flag paint scheme makes it a very cool modeling subject.
