The only thing I have had trouble with using over Alclad is CA accelerator.  That does make a mess of it.  If you have to glue on a piece in an area with Alclad finish, just glue it and let it set- do not use accelerator.

I guess the Alclad is purty tolerant. Good to know.

Tried it in a few small spots with no apparent damage to the Alclad. You're right gentlemen, it is an enamel but I'm only doing a couple of small areas and with the results so far, it should be fine.

I think i am right in saying that tamiya accent is an enamel wash, so yes, i would protect the Alclad.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I'm not familiar with that product but if it's solvent based, then seal the Alclad with Aqua gloss, otherwise you may run the risk of the Alclad bubbling or cracking.

I would probably clear coat just to be safe. I've found that Alclads Aqua Gloss does a nice job of protecting the metallics without altering their color much.

Can I use Tamiya Panel Line Accent Color directly over Alclad metallics or do I need to clear coat?
