yea, slick was the problem.

I just roughed up the line with some 600 grit paper and now it's just perfect.

And the paint is much better as well.

I try to tie the thread to the mast.  I know, tying knots with monofilament is a ***!  Every time I do it I swear I will never do it again.  I use gel CA to fix it to the mast- I use that even in the rare case I do not tie it to the mast.  Tieing it to the mast(s) allows me to tighten the monofilament with a heat source.

I've never used monofiliment for an antenna, but I imagine that it is a pretty slick surface for the CA to adhere onto. I would suggest perhaps a gel type CA glue or some very fine gauge wire instead of the fishing line. Or if you can get ahold of it, EZ Line. I have read and heard many rave reviews of that stuff.

Gluing antenna
Posted by rsm.gbg on Thursday, December 15, 2016 7:38 PM

Hi,

Im trying to glue the antenna to my Revell, Sea Lynx MK88A 1/32.

I have tried 3 types of Super glue the ordinary revell plastic cement and a couple of "household" glues.

Nothing really works, they stick there but blow on them and they will get loose.

I'm using a monofilament fishing line 0.2mm gluing on the painted antenna "holders"

What are you guys using?
