Posted by Models32466 on Sunday, November 25, 2018 10:12 AM

Need help to create the anti slip effect on the Tamiya M1A2OIF.  Saw VMS Hull Deck glue and sand, Liquitek Sand Gel.  Not total sure how to work these or if its the best product to use to create the effect

Any Ideas?

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I know some people use superglue then sprinkle fine sand over the glue.

Never give up, never quit, never stop modelling.Idea

yep VMS Hull Tex. Brush on the glue and then spray on the textured sand.  Lot of masking and cleaning it appears

Could just use something like Mr. Surfacer 500 and then stipple it with a stiff brush.

...or you could use RBaer's method of using electric razor beard trimmings...

No masking requared but you can use it if you want. You brush the cement where you want it to go then springle the texture on it. That's it. If there is any on where you do not want it then all you do is clean it off with their clean slate. That's all, you are now ready to paint.

This is the one they use for M1A2's

I bought the new hull tex  glue and then spray on texture.  Finer Texture than the one where you sprinkle on the texture.
