I've got what's probably a pretty basic painting question. Painting has always been my weak point, I can't often get good results no matter how hard I try, but I think I've just identified what might be part of the problem.
First of all, I do all the prep work, washing the parts etc. I don't have an airbrush, nor do I really want one. I use primer from a spray can, and paint top coats with a brush. But, I've just realized that my primer is enamel, and some of my top coat paints are acrylic. I know from painting in my house that I can't put a latex top coat on an oil primer, is the same happening with using acrylics on enamel? If so, can I get acrylic primer? I saw a can of Tamiya primer at the shop yesterday but it doesn't say if it's enamel or acrylic.
