I'm not an aircraft builder but as an armour builder I would try dry brushing to achieve the look that you want. There are lots of comments in regards to dry brushing in the armour forum if you want to check them out.
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

Hi guys!

hey, i am trying to make a real worn out paint job on a p-61, i used gunze zangyo off white as a prymer, then i used the buffing metalizer of model master, and as a final coat i used again gunze zangyo olive drab, i tryed to peel off the olive drab with a masking tape but didnt peel off the way i wanted, i tryed again by scratching a thoot pick over the olive drab but looks horrible, please, i ran out of ideas Dead [xx(] i dont know what am i doing wrong, i know is a weird experiment but i have seen a lot of planes with worn out paint jobs and they look amazing!

please help me

Any suggestions???.........

thanks a lot
