Just wondering what the corect sequence of steps is for a canopy. Do you dip / spray with future first then mask and spray colour then spray flat . I dont know how well the future would stay on when I would try to remove the mask. Some advice would be much appreciated.

apply future first and let cure for at least 48hrs. then mask. the big key is letting the future cure.

Hi Guys,

I always dip my canopy's in Future, set them on a bit of wax paper and cover them with a glass while they dry hard. It helps if you wick the excess off on a piece of paper toweling before setting it aside to dry. The parts can be handled in less than an hour and then let them cure for 48 before you try masking with low tack tape or frisket paper. Just before you start to paint, go over your mask's edges with the tip of a round pointed toothpick to ensure the edges are down and you don't get the dreaded paint creep under your mask.. Hope this helps.

Don't spray the canopy flat if the masking has been removed. The flat will cloud the clear.

The good news is that a second coat of Future will restore it to clear againSmile [:)]
