Sounds like maybe you could use a bit more dish soap in your wash mixture. I use that sludge was, and found I needed a bit more soap, after adding it, it comes off just fine for me. I use a damp q-tip to remove it. Try putting a bit more soap in, a few drops at a time, and test on an old model or something. keep adding until you get it where you want it. Hope everything works out for you, no matter what method you end up using.
