Here's a how-to on a slightly different way to engrave lines from my much-neglected website...

A trick I like to use is to get the pinvise out and where the raised lines intersect, drill shallow holes the width that the engraved lines will be. Now get your straight edge out and connect the dots! Wink [;)]

First you clear these lines of, using thin sand paper. Then you pass them over with liquid glue, this will make them reappear in the form of an engraved line (in the best case) or as a different colored line. Using the tolls mentioned above and maybe scale plans of the subject you re-scribe panel lines. One more pass with liquid glue will clear the engraved lines. After glue completely dries, you sand with a very very thin sand paper, and... there you are!

You can buy re-scribing tools from any good model shop. You'll need some 'template' tool too, in order to get decent straight lines and curves. Several photoetched bits manufacturers market those.

Have several models with raised panel lines and read that they can be removed and replaced with engraved panel lines, but the article did not say how to do this, anyone who knows how to do this your info would be greatly appreciated.
