Hi all

Im new to the forum but have some(limited) modeling expericance

Im currenty working on a 1/42 academy models spitfire mk14, and i am unshore of what is the best way to mask and paint the "camouflage" color scheme on the exterior of the aircraft.

Note: i am using an airbrush

Any help would be greatly appriciated

I like Silly Putty. You can mold it to any shape you want. Also it doesn't leave a residue. Hope this helps.

I use handi-tack .  Fun-tack, blu-tack are other brands.  Reusable poster tack stuff.

Make ropes of the stuff, apply over the baes coat, fill the masked areas with tape and spray the second color keeping the spray as perpendicular as you can. Leaves a soft edge.

I like the tamiya tape.  comes in a range of sizes.  is flexible enough to hold the curves.  I cut the design on the mat then apply it to the model.  I tried to tape the model then cut, my I have a heavy hand and scribed my paint demarcation lines.
