I did a quick search for "checker decals" on Greatmodels webstore, there are several to choose from. Mostly they are for 1/48 or 1/32 aircraft, but you  could easily cut them for your use. The other option I was thinking about was Scale Motorsport decals; I'm pretty sure I've got some "tuner series" decals from them with a checker pattern, but all I found on their website was tribal flames. They may be out of production, but you could email them to be sure.
