Hi all, i paint display quality 28mm wargaming figures and occasionally build scenery. Id like to get myself an airbrush.
Id mostly be it using it for priming and single colour base coats on figures, but id like the flexibility to be able to use it on larger pieces of scenery and things like weathering on tanks, etc. There are so many compressors and airbrushes out there im not really sure what my best options would be. I need it to be:
Able to use Vallejo or Citadel paints thinned with an airbrush medium rather than a special range of airbrush paints.
As easy and a quick as possible to clean.
To provide a very smooth finish using multiple thin coats.
To be able to use small amounts of paint.
As flexible as possible.
The compressor to be small and as quiet as possible.
Available in the UK.
And crucially, as cheap as possible for something thats going to last me.
From what ive been reading i was thinking a double action, gravity fed airbrush would be my best option? Maybe something like the "Iwata Revolution CR"?
As for compressors i have no idea what i need, i would only be painting for a maximum of 30 mins at a time so could i get away with a cheap one?
