Ok iam sorry but i cant answer all of your?? So first i primer every thing that will have paint on it. Sign - Off Topic!! [#offtopic]Primer is thinned down putty when it comes down to it. I use primer sealer because it dosent have the build up of primer filler you can save alot of $$ if you buy the primer at an aoutomotive store. The pourpose of primer is to give you a smooth finish for your paint to stick to specialy over putty. You can ask some of the people that float around here and they will swear that they dont use it and their models turn out fine.

Another pourpose of primer is say if your plastic is blue and you want to paint it purple well that isnt going to work so you use grey primer. There are different colors of primer grey, white, red and black. They are used if say you use black to paint a white car to get the best results you would use black primer etc you get the point. I use primer when i brush small parts also.I primer the parts on the tree first then put the major sections together then base and camo. When i spray on primer i do two dust coats just enough to cover the plastic.

Hope i didnt confuse youBig Smile [:D] Good luck.

Primer and Bare Metal Foil

Okay, i'm sure someone has asked these questions before, but i'm too tired to go and hunt them down, so please humor me. Big Smile [:D]

First, when and how do you use primer (i've never tried it before because i always thought it was just normal gray paint)? Do you use it only for when you airbrush or can you use it for brush painting? Also, should i assemble the major aircraft sections together before spraying? How thick should the coat be?

Secondly, does anyone have a website with a step-by-step of how to properly apply bare metal foil (maybe swanny... Smile [:)])? I'm kind of worried how it will handle around complex curves... Also, will bare metal stick to tamiya's plastic/metal gray primer?

Thanks, guys!!
