Khaaaaan!!!!!!! (peeling paint)

     Now that you say that about the Windex, I'm kicking myself. I had bought some distilled water specifically for  thinning my Acryls on the advice of someone else on here a few months ago.  I think I had simply forgotten about it and gotten into the habit of using Windex instead.  I'll try what you suggest and see if we can't get this fixed up.   Thanks!  

I wouldn't worry about the future, it is not that runny when airbrushed, and tends to stay put pretty well.  If you need it to dry quickly on a strangely shaped part, you can thin future 3 parts future to 1 part iso alcohol, works fine.

Only thing I hear is the windex.  Windex breaks down acrylic paints, and should never be used as a thinner.  I use windex to clean my airbrush, so I know how well it attacks acrylics.  Thin acrylics with distilled water, airbrush medium, or just use future!  Depending on the brand, most like this just fine.  I start at about 3 paint to 1 future when thinning Vallejo acrylics for airbrushing, though you will get a slower drying 'wet edge' when using water.

   I primed it with Tamiya gray primer in the rattle can.  Then I put down a basecoat of Model Master Chrome Silver thinned with Testors Enamel Thinner.  I let that dry for 1 1/2 weeks before I went to the next coat.  The next coat was Model Master Acryl Turn Signal Amber thinned with a few drops of Windex.  I let that dry 1/2 an hour, then I misted some Acryl Clear Red, not thinned, over the top of that. Then I brushed a coat of Future over it and let that dry for 24hrs.

     I took another look last night and I think I thinned too much.  Everything peeled off, down to the primer, but the  primer is fine.  Also, it occurred to me that with the self-leveling properties that Future has, on a spherical surface it might have flowed to the back edges of the part, so that a lot of it's sealing properties were probably lost.  I might try it again using an enamel clear coat this time.  Unless you can think of something else I haven't thought of.

Couple questions.  What brand of paint are you using and what did you thin it with?  Next, did you prime the model before laying down color coats?
