I use teflon tape, but grudgingly since I find it a PITA to work with. The better option - if you can find it - is Loctite 545. It's a liquid pneumatic sealant. Just apply to a few of the threads, screw together, and absolutely zero leaks. I used to use it all the time in my offroad days (my Land Rover had pneumatic locking differentials). Back in the day I had to rely on a connection at an industrial supplier, but now I think you can probably buy the stuff on Amazon.

Teflon Tape and Compressor!

I put teflon tape on the threads of my compressor hose connections today. It's the same stuff you can buy at Home Depot for shower heads. A 1/4 inch wide strip wound one time around, in the direction of twist, for the large connection of the hose. A tiny strip, cut with my #11 blade for the other end at the airbrush connection. Anyway, my compressor does not cycle now unless it is used. It is holding the pressure THAT good. I thought I'd let you guys know, since this cuts wayyy down on the pressure cycles, noise, ... and wear!
