Randy, take a good look at the Badger Renegade Krome before you replace the Talon. You already get the HP-CR which covers larger area well. You may need to go the more detail direction instead of another large area AB.

Yes, the Iwata Eclipse HP-CS and the Badger Renegade Krome have similar detail capability. They have the same linear flow angle (tip angle) of 6.0 degrees. I have the 0.35 (standard) and 0.5 mm nozzle/needle sets for the HP-CS and found the difference to be rather small in actual use. I suspect that the Eclipse HP-CS will be similar to your Revolution HP-CR and a good upgrade if you want less overspray. The CS may be a little easier to clean with its self centering nozzle design. Since you mentioned the Patroit, I thought that you want to try the difference of a Badger vs. Iwata. The Badger Krome is one designed with modeler in mind and do a very good job to compete with the HP-CS in price and performance. Either the HP-CS or the Krome will need careful attention to paint thinning and are a little more prone to tip dry if using Acrylic, typical, not excessively so.
On the other hand, the Patriot is a much more forgiving airbrush due to the larger nozzle and very short needle taper. It tends to have a little more overspray, again not excessive for modeling. Some may like it better because it can dispense more paint quicker and less prone to tip dry. It may be a easier airbrush to learn with.

I measured most of the values above from my airbrush collection, except the Badger Renegade Rage and the Iwata Custom-Micro CM-B. These 2 are from published web articles and included here for reference purpose. The numbers above are a good indication of what the airbrush potentially can do in detail. But the actual depends on the manufacturer's implementation. Without saying, a lot more on the user's skill.
A case in point is the Neo for Iwata. With a very small 5 degrees linear flow angle, you should expect great details, right? Not too bad in that regard. The best made-in-China knock-off I have ever tried. An excellent value for the $38 price from Hobby Lobby. But the needle is rough and unpolished. Mine works fine, but there are too many reports of quality inconsistance.
