Hi unnamedplayer.

I own the 7 airbrushes that you see here:

They are left to right: T&C Vega 1000 with Omni handle, T&C Vega 2000 with Omni handle, Badger 150, Badger 360, Badger Anthem, Omni 3000, and Omni 4000.
It is hard to say what is "best" as they all serve different purposes.
The T&C Omni 3000, Vega 2000 and Badger Anthem are my textile airbrushes for T-shirt art. The Badger 360 also fits partly into that category as it sprays in siphon-feed mode also. The rest are modeling airbrushes.
Although I really like them all, my favorites are the Omni's, the Badger Anthem and the Badger 360 as they are all the newer one-size needle and tip models which I really like. The Anthem and 360 are the same airbrush except for the rotating head and they are the fastest airbrushes made to break down .
I can remove the needle from either one in about 2 seconds. Big Smile [:D]
The head is hand-tightened too so no wrench is needed to remove it.
I can break down the Anthem and 360 with the needle, head, tip and trigger removed in about 10-12 seconds.
They are very cool. Cool [8D]

Mike? Mike! Now where IS that boy!

I was on a recon mission. LOL Big Smile [:D]Wink [;)]

Rusty already purchased an Anthem 155 so giving an opinion is not needed now.
The Anthem rocks by the way, as does the Badger 360, and all of the Omni's.
I like the Badger 150 too. There are just too many toys to like. Wink [;)]

Thanks for the confidence Scott.

Mike? Mike! Now where IS that boy!

The ability of an airbrush is limited primarily by the ability of the user. My Omni 3000 is capable of much finer detail work than I'm capable of. For that matter so is my single-action Badger 200!

That said, scan down the list of posts. There are a couple of posts that MikeV made showing the line quality he was getting with different airbrushes. The Omni series can go from about a 1/32" line to a real heavy line with a single nozzle. I really like mine, but Mike is much more familiar with the various models and the capabilities of each than I am.

And yet another one. I have two brushes; a Badger 200 and an Omni 3000. Quick-and-dirty just-shoot -the-parts I use the 200 because it's easier to disassemble and clean. Any sort of detail at all and I grab the Omni because I have better control.

I am neither bashing, or praising, just passing along the info. I think that perhaps Mike V might know of a better source???? What do you say Mike, know of any? 'cause I won't use Dixie again!!!

Do you know what delivery service Badger/Dixie used? Several years ago when I lived in the country, I had software delivered and the people used Airborn Express. They couldn't find the address, so delivered it to a house with an address that wasn't even close. Some people swear by them but I avoid them at all cost.

If it was UPS, they had no excuse for not giving you a tracking number.

Yep, morning on Bourbon Street doesn't smell the best in the world. I loved being in New Orleans though, best Halloween ever. I almost got run over by two cops on horses.

Over the years I've discovered that drop shipping from the manufacturer actually saves time. If your dealer doesn't have it in stock, it will get to you quicker coming directly from the manufacturer (or distributer) rather from the mfg to the dealer and then to you. In fact, if I'm odering something and its not in stock, I will request that it be drop shipped to me. Although if that is what your dealer is going to do, he should let you know.

I recently ordered an Iwata airbrush from dixieart. Got a confirming e-mail next day and item was recieved in 5 working days from my order. Problem is probably related to the shipping coming from Badger rather than dixiearts' stocks. Too many cooks and all.

For what it is worth, I just ordered a compressor and Iwata airbrush from Dixie and had absolutely no problems. Got the merchandise in a couple of days. Was in doubt about one of my purchases and they said they would do an exchange with no problems. I did call them one time close to their closing hour and it sounded like they were having a party. Might be a good place to work!!!!!

Don't think it's deliberate misleading on their part.

I'm not saying it was deliberate. However, like most people, when I order online, and the company removes the cash from my account, I expect a shipment to be no later than one week. Now if they had left the cash in the account, and waited until the day of shipment, that would have been a different story. And I think it is appropriate to let people know that their shipment is going to be a few weeks longer than anticipated. And on the site it states that they will notify you of any problems....but they were going to ignore me until I did hound them. In the end they lost, because they took a hit of probably $40.00 to ship it from Illinois to San Diego overnight. But these forums are about letting the consumer know what's out there, wether bad or good experiences, and a lot of the people go to a company by what is said here (that's what led me to Dixie in the first place). It's always up to the consumer themselves to make their own "educated" decision using the facts gathered. SoapBox [soapbox]

I'm off now, no offense intended hungfarlow.....and I'm glad that your experience with them was better than mine!! Happy Modeling

The prices are comparible to Dixie Art.

Very Interesting......I placed an order to DixieArt about three weeks ago as well, to obtain some Paasche VL replacement parts. Never received a confirmatory email, nor can I get more than their answering machine! No way to check order status via their website, eitehr. I'm planning on investing some serious cash into a new Iwata HP-C Hi-Line very soon, but I do not think it will be with DixieArt. Anyone have a better idea on where to buy an Iwata at a fair price?
