Are you talking about Armor or Aircraft? Your question sounds more like Armor, but I can help a little on AC. First, paint the interior in its' basic color. Let the paint cure, then add a wash in a similar but much darker color. Then dry brush in a similar but much lighter color. This will make detail pop-out and provide a weathered or more aptly "lived in" appearance. Finally, paint any knobs, levers, hoses, etc. in the appropriate colors. If you want to show paint chipping on seats or floors, dry brush with some Aluminum, but don't overdo it. Same basic techniques should work for Armor as well, but could likely be a little more extreme in wear & tear.
