Are you talking about Armor or Aircraft? Your question sounds more like Armor, but I can help a little on AC. First, paint the interior in its' basic color. Let the paint cure, then add a wash in a similar but much darker color. Then dry brush in a similar but much lighter color. This will make detail pop-out and provide a weathered or more aptly "lived in" appearance. Finally, paint any knobs, levers, hoses, etc. in the appropriate colors. If you want to show paint chipping on seats or floors, dry brush with some Aluminum, but don't overdo it. Same basic techniques should work for Armor as well, but could likely be a little more extreme in wear & tear.

Considering the intricate scale of a model's cockpit, weathering techniques are really not as much of a big part as they are on the exterior. Also, the cockpit is not exposed to the elements as much as exterior surfaces are.

However, I think some weathering is still in line. So far I have only done very dry-brush techniques, going over edges of the seat and instrument panel with a bit of metallic paint. A good dull finish would probably also help. Other than that though, I can't really think of anything.

Interior Weathering

Hi

I tried searching the forum and wasn't able to find what I was looking for. Maybe I didn't search the right keywords.

I'm looking for some info on painting the interior to show wear and tear. Most of the info I found related to exterior weathering. Anybody out there with some tips on interior paint chips, worn door/gun handles, deteriorating floors, chipped tables and equipment, etc.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before so even a link to other postings would be appreciated.
