I'm working on a project where I want to use Alclad II metalizer (not the high-shine) on one part of the model that butts up against another part of the model where I am doing a simulated wood finish using artist oils over an acrylic base coat. I worry about successfully masking over either of these finishes while painting the other, and I can't seem to decide which would be best to do first. Any opinions?

In my experience Alclad is very durable and isn't a problem to mask over. It also dries real fast. I'd mask over the alclad first.
I agree with Nathan. You can mask over Alclad II, but give it a few days to thoroughly cure, first.
Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...
