I agree with Nathan.  You can mask over Alclad II, but give it a few days to thoroughly cure, first.

In my experience Alclad is very durable and isn't a problem to mask over. It also dries real fast. I'd mask over the alclad first.

What to paint and mask first

I'm working on a project where I want to use Alclad II metalizer (not the high-shine) on one part of the model that butts up against another part of the model where I am doing a simulated wood finish using artist oils over an acrylic base coat.  I worry about successfully masking over either of these finishes while painting the other, and I can't seem to decide which would be best to do first.  Any opinions?
