I built a drying booth to speed things up. It is a simple box with a 60 watt light bulb in it, with some openings in the top. I put one of those plastic trays on top,- the kind we take our models to shows in- mounted upside down, as a parts chamber.
Others use food dissicators, but some of those run pretty hot and have warped parts. I put a dimmer in series with the bulb so I could adjust temp. Turns out that was not needed- wide open the sixty watts runs the chamber at about 105 degrees.
Thinner coats help. Try several thin coats, sanding between coats. But controlling gloss and thinness of a rattle can coat is hard. Last coat still needs to be a bit heavy to get good gloss.
