Anyone ever tried Badger acrylic paint? I tried some Saturday and was less than impressed with the results. Admittedly it was pretty cool in my basement, probably in the lower 50's, and that probably had a lot to do with it. The paint and model had been upstairs where it was pretty warm and I had a lamp over the work area to keep things from getting too cold.
It is supposed to be ready to spray out of the bottle, no thinning required. I tried it straight from the bottle, I thinned it to the consistency of water (with several attempts at different stages), I tried two air brushes and pressure from 10 to 25 psi. I never could get it to do anything decent. Out of the bottle at 20 psi worked best, but it was still pretty poor. It would just send "Sputters" of paint in the direction of the plastic, I had to clean the needle tip every few seconds, and had a terrible case of "Orange Peel" when it dried.
Same time, same basement, same airbrush, I shot some Tamiya on another model and it sprayed perfectly.
I'm pretty sure the temperature was most of the problem, but has anyone else tried this paint, and what were your results with it?
