If you use windex it will attack the future since you dipped the canopy in it. A toothpick can scrape away paint without damaging the canopy if you're careful.

I scrape small spots with the tip of a #11 Exacto.  Any dulling can be fixed with more future.

To avoid bleed under, go over the edge of canopy masking with a bit of future.  The future will seal the seam and any bleed under of it will not be very noticable.

Painting Vacuform Canopies

I am building my first aircraft in decades, a 1/72 North American T-2C Buckeye. I used a vacuform canopy which I dipped in future before installation. After gluing it on, I masked it. I first painted the canopy frames flat black. I then primed the entire model and put on a gloss white topcoat. After the other colors are done, I plan to apply decals and the a clear topcoat. After all that, I will remove the masking tape from the canopy. Question: If I have any paint bleed under the tape is there any way to correct the problem such as cleaning the canopy with a q-tip and windex or I am just going to have a nervous breakdown. Thanks!
