Order / Type of Paint

Its all personal preference. Depends on what Type of paints you like to basecoat with. I use acrylics that are water/alcohol base, such as Tamiya and Gunze. I use oil washes over a gloss coat, which is an acrylic gloss. If I wanted to, I can use any wash I want, not just oils, as a water based wash won't affect anything as water isn't a strong solvent. You can even base coat with enamels, then brush on an acrylic clear coat, then use enamel/oil washes.

I mostly basecoat with acrylics and wash with oils and enamels.

Some people don't like washing with acrylics,in that case you could overcoat your enamel basecoat with Future or Acrylic Clear,then wash with oils or enamels.

I use enamel for  the base coats,  washes and weathering overcoats.
