A Wash for Zinc Chromate Yellow

I would appreciate some advice about the color for a thin wash to bring out the details of zinc chromate yellow painted areas, like wheel wells, bomb bays, etc.

I'm thinking that a straight black wash might be too dark. Maybe a dirty kind of brown?

I'd be grateful for any insights. Thanks.

Burnt umber, or similar browns work well. I have seen them used very effectively with zc yellow.

Raw umber gives a more mild look. Burnt umber will make the details really stand out...

Thanks, Nathan and stik. I usually use cheap acrylic craft paints for washes, so if I don't have any kicking around, I'll pick up a bottle of both. I appreciate all the suggestions.
