I know several folks who airbrush this way. Just use a good regulator.

I use a compressor with tank, that feeds into an auxiliary six gallon tank. Water trap installed at exit of second tank. When full pressure of 125 psi is reached I turn off compressor, then wait until system is down to about 30 psi before turning compressor back on.

That gives me a long time of spraying available. Refill to full pressure takes about 110 seconds, the twin compressor cylinders stay quite cool that way, zero tendency to get hot, which helps prevent water in system. Always drain both tanks at end of session anyway.

I've got an air compressor in the garage. It is much too noisy to bring into the house.

Sure, if you can easily get the tank refilled.

Air Tank, no compressor

I'm considering an airbrush and wondered if it would be possible to run one with an air tank I have. It is about 6 gallons and can be filled to about 125 psi. I could easily put add a moisture trap and regulator if needed.

Anyone run a gun on something like this?
