Tips and techniques for using oil paints?

I just bought 2 tubes of Winsor & Newton oil paint. Burnt Umber and Yellow Ochre. Surprisingly they are water-mixable paints. Now I've never used oil paints before as I was always an enamel and acrylic guy (aside from the fact that thats all I ever saw in the various hobby shops I visited). Now, since I've never used oils before, I'm wondering what I can do with the two colors I have now (I'm inevitably going to buy more colors though) and what techniques I can use with oils. Heck, if someone can give me a complete run-down on the use of oils in this hobby that'd be even better.
