Lol, yes well.... valid point. Oh who am I kidding. I like my work area with dirty windows. Who needs sunshine and clean air when I've got pounds of plastic, glue, and an airbrush ;)

Zokissima, I hope you only plan to use Windex to soak your AB nozzles?

Yeah MadModelFactory, I know u were j/k
they're decent. Definitely not the best, but their price is what makes them an attarctive sale.
To you Iroc, all I can say is: THANK YOU! That worked so...WELL! I have concentrated Windex solution at home, so I diluted it with water in a little bit of a stronger ratio than you would find in pre-diluted windex, left the nozzle soaking through the night, flushed it out this morning and the spray pattern was PERFECT! It was as good as new. Comming straight, centered, and completely consistent. Thanks so much for the advice! SInce it was so effective, I will just use this from now on as my cleaning solution. Thanks a lot! :)

Nah should be ok, I've left it in a couple of days before...all I got was a clean nozzle.

Don't worry I was just joking.

Personally, I prefer the metal airbrushes, Aztek are good AB otherwise they wouldn't have sold for such a long time.

Your only spraying Acrylics right?
Soak the nozzle in Windex...you know the blue window cleaner.
It has a good dose of ammonia in it, will cut right thru the Acrylic paint.

QUOTE: Get some trisodium phosphate (TSP). Make up a very strong solution with water and soak the tip in it overnight (use rubber gloves). Then mount the tip and spray distilled water through the tip. That should do the trick. If it doesn't, you can disassemble the tip.

It's a good Idea, but man is that a lot of trouble! I think we should just get a better airbrush.

having problems with stupid nozzle
Posted by zokissima on Thursday, March 4, 2004 2:17 PM
Ok, I've been having some fairly stupid problems with my aztec airbrush. I'm 100% positive that the nozzle has some paint residue (hell, I can see it when I hold it up to the light) and a result is a spray pattern that's comming out of the airbursh at a rather extreme angle, as opposed to straight out. Suffice to say, I'm not happy, as it's a nightmare to spray with the thing now.
Anyways, I've left the thing soaking in thinner, and it did nothing. I've read the posts concerning this, and the one option I haven't tried yet is opening up the nozzle. As I've said, I've read the posts, but I'm still confused as to how I'm supposed to open and disassemble the nozzle.
Any descriptions, suggestions, diagrams, anything, would be more than helpful as I'm getting really frustrated. I really don't want to go and buy a new nozzle.
Also, one more question. When I purchased the airbrush, it came with a detail and wide coverage acrylic nozzle and detail and wide nozzle regular (i assume enamel) paint nozzle. What's the difference? I only use acrylics, so will there be a problem if I use the non-acrylic nozzle with acrylic paints?
