i only use the suggested thiiners, but i know you can yous windex or car winshield wiper fluid for most acrylic paint and lacquer thinner fo solvent paints, but be warned, if it doesnt happen to work with a particular paint it will gum up the airbrush and be a mess to clean. you can use water for most acrylic to be safe.

Alternate Thinners

Are there any good options for alternate "everyday" thinners to use with paints. I understand to thin paints for airbrushing it is best to thin it with the same brand of thinner. However, I find it difficult, living where I do (Italy) to find hobby shops with a good selection of anything. I know there are alternate brush cleaners, windex and rubbing alcohol for acrylic and mineral spirits for enamel, but what about using as thinners for airbrushing? Thanks
