Thanks Don, the first thing I did was clean up all the parts but I just wanted to check on the primer due to the soft white metal. I think I should be all right. Thanks..

I use auto paint primer for metal bodies, like Duplicolor primer, but Rustoleum metal primer and Krylon primer work pretty well on bare metal.  For metal surfaces it is important to get all oil film off with detergent or solvent before priming.

I made this one and used Tamiya Fine White Lacquer Primer and Acrylic Paint (Custom mix).  I cleared it w/ Tamiya Lacquer.  I suppose you could use etching primer though.  Just make sure its a fine primer or you will lose the details being a small 1/43.  I found the Tamiya white primer seemed to work very well.

This is what the can looks like TAMIYA WHITE

Can anybody recommend a good primer for white metal. I'm working on a kit that has several parts and i was thinking that any automotive primer should work but any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks, Terry
