In the case of Tamiya acrylics, it's part water, part alcohol based, with a few other aromatics in the mix, so it is a bit vulnerable when not fully cured.

Ye, that don't sound right. white spirits should have no effect on acrylic paint. Acrylic paint is water based.

How long did you leave it to cure before applying the wash? Minimum 24 hours to allow time to fully cure.

I'm doing something wrong then , my wash just took the acrylic paint off , and I used white spirit

I use standard white spirit, I believe its called mineral spirits in the US.

I've applied oil washes over Tamiya acrylics without any problems whatsoever. I actually prefer to apply direct to flat paint without gloss-coating first.

a quick question , can you use an oil wash over acrylic paint's . if not what do you seal it with . steve
