Badger 150 problems
Posted by PigFarmer on Thursday, June 18, 2015 10:31 AM
I've been airbrushing since the 70s and recently I got a Badger 150. After first it worked great but now it hardly ever sprays when the tip assembly is on (Even a brand new never been used tip). I take the tip off and it sprays, put it back on and nothing. I'm beginning to wonder if I have a compressor issue. Has anyone had similar problems? I'm at my wit's end with this.

Yep, I'm having similar problems with mine as well. I think some of my problem come with the needle sticking out so far and so it's very easy to bend. When it works, it does fine, however, my HF AB is better at shooting a fine line.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I have been using my Badger 150 for about 15 years, I like it so much I got a 100 as well. I just had this same problem right now. I had sprayed last night and only gave it a quick flush out, but clearly not enough. A proper clean of the head sorted it out. But, if its a new tip, then I can only think its the needle.

The only problems I ever have with mine are self inflicted, either not properly cleaned because I was rushing or the paint has bits in it.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I'm not sure which part you are talking about.  The front piece is what Badger calls a regulator.  Behind it is the head with a tiny nozzle that Badger calls a tip screwed into it.  Normally, you need both to get a spray.  If it used to spray, but now it doesn't, either there is some dried paint somewhere or something has been damaged or assembled wrong.  Each is possible, but dried paint is most likely.  Does the white Teflon gasket look OK?
