Hello Don!

I don't think this is going to work - somebody sharp enough to look in the FAQ, wherever it is, can also use other methods to research his questions - like google them out. If somebody posts a basic question, such that gets posted every week, he clearly isn't in position to look up the FAQ neither - not enough computer experience or not enough energy, not to speak of other problems... Then it's up to individual users if they answer such question or not (the answers often go without as much as a simple thank you - not enough experience to answer...). Humanity - whatcha gonna do?

Let's try our best, have a nice day

Paweł

The FAQ still exists, Don.  You can see it here.

The problem is that most people don't know about it.  And, if someone asks a question and you reply with see the FAQ, you can come across as a jerk.  It's like saying Google is your friend.  Forums are a beginners first stop, and we are always going to see the same questions over and over.  A sticky that points to the FAQ might reduce some of that.  But, I think people are still going to seek an individual response.

Hey, that is fantastic!  What a blast from the past!  I'll have to pass that URL around.

The reason I posted this in this forum was this is the forum I see the most repetitive threads, like "what airbrush should I get" or "how do I determine what mix to thin my paints for airbrushing."

For those of you who remember newsgroups, like the old rec.models.scale, remember FAQs (frequently asked questions)?  I see the same threads started every week or so.  The FAQs were an easy answer to this.  Why haven't FAQs caught on with forums?

Come on Don,you know I just have to pull your chain and say "this should be posted in the Forum Feedback Section" Big Smile seriously though ,good point,at least some stickies stuck somewhere.
