Greg is right. I use to spray Vallejo thinned with water and had a terrible time. I bought their thinner and it works much better. Vallejo brushes like a dream and prefer that for brushing more than any other brand. Air brushing is a different story.

I find Vallejo Air is far better for the AB. It is formulated for spraying.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I use Vallejo acrylics almost exclusively which makes me no expert at all but I do have an opinion.

I never had much luck spraying Vallejo Gloss Varnish and I'm not so sure it was ever really meant to be sprayed. It brushes on quite nicely, BTW.

If properly thinned, I think a small spray gun would be more in order to spray this stuff than an airbrush. Or at least a needle/nozzle at maybe .5mm or larger. And probably 20-30 psi which may be way higher than you're used to.

I don't think thinning it with distilled water is a very good idea, I'd use Vallejo's own airbrush thinner. And by all means don't be using Tamiya X-20 or any alcohol.

Hopefully someone will read this who has some better ideas how to spray the stuff.

Sorry, but I've never used Vellejo.  Tamiya has it's own thinner (X-20), but I do not know if they are compatable.  My LHS is going to start carring Vellejo, so I would like to hear what to use to thin it, and at what ratio.

First, hello everyone. Nice to be a part of such a neat community.

plain and simple - I can't seem to spray gloss acrylics without clogging everything up. Regular works fine. I use the Vellejo model color line and cut with distilled water.

Anyone have a secret ratio to use? Cleaning this damn thing is starting to consume my life.
