I want to know what advantages this primer has over the conventional tamiya primer.

Thanks!

I never used their conventional primer, but this stuff works as good as any other rattlecan primer,I compare it to Mr Surfacer 1200

I've never used the regular either, but I've read it is useful if you are dealing with more severe surface defects that need a bit of filling along with priming. One thing about Tamiya primer, it surely does adhere and sand nicely.
