Paint pooling in air cap and needle cap
Posted by Mars on Sunday, June 11, 2017 5:09 PM

My gun was sputtering and not atomizing paint very well. I noticed paint pooling in the air and needle cap. I took the caps off to clean them and noticed the air cap o-ring seemed to have stretched and was too big to fit snuggly. Is this an o-ring problem or something else?

Mars, more detail wouldn't go astray.

Lets start with;

  • Airbrush make and Model
  • Paint type and thinners used
  • What % of paint to thinners
  • What PSI are you running your airbrushing at

Then we can help sort the o ring thing you mentioned.

Master Airbrush model G22 or G23.Testors enamel and Testors enamel thinner. I tried for 3 parts  to 2 parts thinner, eyeballing it. Currently no guage or regulator on a Luminess make up compressor.Sorry about the computer mistakes, I'll catch on

Hi Mars,

I had a similar problem with the G-22.  Have a look at the postscript on this page and see if it helps.  The little O-ring on the nozzle doesn't last long when exposed to solvents.
