Or use gloss black in a rattle can. Spray in several light coats. Dry time is much shorter than Testors enamel.

Yes, it takes at least as long to dry as Testors enamel.  Since I keep gloss black Testors in stock, I just use that- never finished the bottle of the Alclad stuff.

Thanks for the info,   I guess I'll let it cure for a few days and see what happens.   I may need to polish that alclad base cuz it came out a little pebbly looking,  Do you think testers acrylic gloss black will go over it ok?

I've used it once, and did not have that issue. I did let it cure for 2-3 days.

Has anyone ever had the gloss black Alclad base color be sticky after spraying it on?

John

Yes, I have had that problem. I get good results with the Gloss Black Testor's in square bottles.

I've used it a couple times without issue.  They reccomend letting it dry for 7 days.  I have had success spraying sooner than that thoug.

Thanks,

John

I've never sprayed it myself but I've heard of a lot of people having it not cure or taking a very long time to cure.
