I can only guess that it could be 1 of 3 problems:

1 - The paint was not mixed well enough. 2 - The paint or painting area was not warm enough or humidity too high. 3 - It was a bad batch of paint. Did you test the paint on a test piece? These are problems that I have experienced over my years of painting.

I don't know what's going on here. I recently wrapped up a model and began prepping it for decals. It was painted with rattle can flat OD enamel. I went over it with Rustoleum clear high gloss enamel and even after three coats very little of the model showed the effects. It was almost as if I had not done anything. Naturally the only parts of the model that showed any signs of high gloss were not near the upcoming decal locations.

What can cause this problem? I am spraying from about 8 inches away and the paint is obviously wet and glossy at first.
