panel lines arent being painted

I have to agree with 1337. Except that I will usually do 2-3 mist coats before applying wet coats. While your in the mist coat stage the model will look pretty ugly. The surface will look a tad rough and transparent. After the first wet coat it will all disappear.

If you apply to much paint in the beginning it has nothing to stick too. Therefore it just runs off any sharp edges and panel lines. The mist coats provide a "tooth" for the paint to stick to.

FSM had an excellant article on this very subject a few months ago. December 2003 issue to be exact. "How to get great spray-can finishes by Matthew Usher."

yes, i just re-sprayed it with thicker paint. this is the first time ive used this brand, different than tamiya.

don;'t forget the mist coat. just spray REALLY lightly, let it dry for maybe an hour or two, then spray your normal coats. remember, spray several light coats than 1 heavy coat

i airbrushed with boyds enamel, thinned 50%. 50%. so thats the prob. thanks.

I suspect your paint was a little too thinned out. Once your top coat is dry, just reshoot into those lines and you should be okay. You didn't say if you were brushing, airbrushing, or using a rattle can. If you are mixing enamel you should thin about 2 parts paint to one part thinner in the airbrush. Next time, shoot your paint into those nooks and crannies first, let it dry, and check to make sure you've got coverage-do this under very good light and pitch the model into every visible angle when you check it. When your satisfied, then shoot the rest of the car.
