Yes you can, but make sure you use it on oil-based paints like MM and Tamiya enamels only. You CANNOT use it to thin aqueous (water-based) model paints like Tamiya and Gunze acrylics -- just wanted to be clear about this since you said "other model paints". Mineral spirits and another product called turpentine are good thinners for oil-based paints, though the latter smells really bad IMO. I use commercially-sold mineral spirits myself and it works just as well as the branded enamel thinners. And a lot cheaper, too. Hope this helps.
