Built myself a new paint booth / vent box today.
hello all just thought i'd show this project in case anyone out there is looking for idea.
after 2 years of painting in my laundry closet which has just enough room for a washer and some shelves I decided i needed a paint booth i could store under my new workbench in my new Model building closet. the main problem is there is no way to vent to the outside.
I started with a cardboard box the size i wanted my booth to be.. attached my fan.. built up an 8 inch hood above the fan for the air collection area... put a hole in top of the hood slightly smaller than the dryer vent i used so that it fits in snug without any tape.
I took another box that fit under my desk just right.. cut a simular hole in top for the dryer vent... poked some holes in one side with a screwdriver.. taped a cheap ventilation filter from the hardware store over the holes.
then tore up a bunch of cheap vent filters and stuffed the box.. leaving a open space around where the dryer vent enters.
when not in use i just pull the dryer vent and store the booth box with the vent hose and power supply for my fan in it and all fits under the desk.
Works great just sprayed 10 tires black for my tamiay duce and a half and my wife's sensitive nose didnt' smell a thing..

now i can paint in comfort.. beats standing in front of the washer trying to spray with the folding door handles in your back......
