This is Monogram's 1983 release, 1/72nd scale F-16XL. The kit's factory tinted canopy was cracked OOB, so I began a conversion using the forward fuselage of a Hasagawa F-16A and the kit rear section, re-contoured and sanded smooth. Static dischargers were added to the trailing edges, air-data sensors and intake position lamps are resin casts from a spare kit, made in-house. Model Master enamels, Tamiya acrylics were used for the aircrat colors. The canopy was custom tinted using Future and artists watercolor. Tamiya acrylic was mixed for a sludge wash complete for weathering. Look for my article on the build in Finescale, wish me luck! Here's some preview pics...you guys get first dibs ofcourse. Enjoy!

Very Cool. I've tried the tinted canopy, but mine came out much too dark. Your's looks great. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks for the kinds words guys, I'm cranking away on another project right now, a Hawker Siddley Buccaneer S.2B during Desert Storm 1991.

Woodbeck3, in the photo above, I'm using pointed -tipped twezzers to hold the canopy with masking tape wrapped around the tip to clamp and hold the part for airbrushing.
